Distribution of Signals around the home

I come across a lot of installs that have had the ‘Hand of the DIYer’ hack a two way splitter into them, then left well alone until a further point or two are needed. Now the requirement for a further point or two becomes more of a challenge. The ability to send signals from just about any type of entertainment you have in the lounge around the home needs a little bit more kit than that 50p ‘Y’ splitter you installed, Maybe now you have Sky TV and want to connect a second TV and control the SKY from the second TV. It was never really a secret that your SKY receiver had two outputs, RF1 would be for the main lounge TV RF2 would be for the second TV maybe in a bedroom or kitchen. Have a look at the diagram and follow RF2 the purple line is the coaxial that you will install to send the signal to the second TV .

You will need to purchase coaxial cable to reach the TV and two coaxial plugs including one adapter to convert one of the coaxial plugs to a female connector for RF2 on the back of your SKY box.....Simple!

Modern Domestic Integrated Reception System

Above are diagram’s of the kind of distribution systems that are installed in the main of domestic homes that have for example ‘SKY’ or ‘Freeview’ maybe even ‘Cable’ so that the signal’s from the Main TV normally in the lounge, can be distributed around the home for others to view.

Most new TV’s now being purchased for around the home have the capability to receive ‘High Definition’ Pictures. Games machines, Blue ray players, that are connected directly into the TV will allow the viewer to watch ‘HD’ content in another room. But another source of ‘HD’ content will come from Freesat and now for a few areas HD content will be available via the TV aerial on Freeview.

The Solution.....Domestic Integrated Reception System. No limits on the amount of points you can connect to it. Active Aerials can design and install a system to meet all distribution needs in your home. The Multiswitch System only requires a single satellite dish to be fitted allowing as many Freeview, Freeview HD, Freesat HD and SKY HD boxes to be installed in the home.

When homes are built or even modernised little thought is given to the Aerial system that will serve the home with signal. If it is, the home in most cases ends up with an Aerial distribution system that feeds TV Aerial signals only. Visual entertainment as changed and provided us with more ways that we can receive this entertainment. But little as changed in the way an installation is installed in the home, because most of the work is carried out by Builders or Electricians who are not aware of new Integrated Systems that can provide the home with far more than just a signal from the TV Aerial.

Integrated Reception Systems are installed just like the old TV aerial only distribution systems but with components that can provide the whole of the home with a combined signal from TV Aerial, Satellite, DAB Radio, FM Radio, CCTV allowing everyone to have the freedom of viewing from any source that is connected to the system. Every outlet would be able to receive its own supply of combined signals allowing TV’s to receive signals for SKY HD Freesat HD and Freeview HD and be installed anywhere around the home.

An advantage of this system is once installed, whatever you choice of viewing pleasure will be provided for by the system. Primarily designed for Flats and apartment buildings this system installed correctly will future proof your home.
